I Want Your Glasses

No, I haven't become creepier than usual, nor do I collect used glasses. In fact, I was flipping through my one-thing-a-day book (see earlier post) and I came upon one titled, "Old Specs, New Owners" Through this I learned of an organization called Unite for Sight, which sends glasses to people who can't afford them in places like Africa and Latin America. I thought this sounded like a pretty cool, non-divisive idea, so I began asking my friends and family if they had any old glasses. People responded very well, and, though I had never heard of this organization before, several had already donated their glasses! So, if you or your family have any old pairs of reading glasses, distance glasses, or non-prescription sun glasses lying around that you don't want, I am trying to raise as many as I can to donate. Please make sure that the glasses are in reasonably good condition, are not bifocals, and do not have progressive lenses.
