These are a few of my Favorite Things

I was sitting here, trying to come up with my favorite activity, and I found that it was very difficult. After going through all sorts of possible ideas, I finally decided to see what all of them had in common, and I found that all of them involved my friends! Based on this, I decided to say that my favorite activity would be hanging out with my friends. Now, this may seem like a cop-out, but it really isn't. When I look back, I don't really remember alot of times where I was by myself. Mostly, I remember laughing and talking with my friends and family in a variety of situations. Even times where it wouldn't be any fun if I was by myself (school, long car rides, ect) are made into fond memories because I had people I like around me. This is similar to Dominique's post about swimming with her friends, and I think that both of us have the same idea. Life is just fun when you're around your friends! However, reading this, I see that I need some more specific examples, so here it goes. I also like to swim because I love the water and I meet alot of new people. I like to be politically involved (protests, rallies, cauceses) because I think that it's important to have a say in the government and speak out when you don't like the way things are going. (You also meet the sweetest people at those things...) Finally, I love pottery. I think that this is because I like working with tangible mediums instead of drawing or painting...sort of making something 3D instead of leaving it on paper. Well, as the name of the post implies, those are a few of my favorite things!

I think you have reached the conclusion that hopefully most of us had made. It seems to be the people around us that make activities/sports fun and exciting. I totally agree.

i love you title + the song haha (sound of music?)
friends in general are a really important part of peoples lives because they help mold people into who they become. and if you join sports they are absolutely NO fun unless you have someone with you to enjoy it with.

I think it was Mary Poppins (the song). Yuck, I hate that movie. But good post, I think that the majority of what people are saying their favorite activity is involves their friends.

"raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. brown paper packages tied up with string. these are a few of my favorite things"

sorry. just had to add that in.

i agree, clubs/sports/activities are WAY better when you have friends in them.

Hey Madelyn I also read 1984 I find George Orwell to be a great writer, kind of amazing how some of the stuff, in a weird way has come true, not saying he prophesied any of it. I don't if what I said makes any sense though. I heard Animal Farm is an awesome book, its kind of challenging but since your really good with politics it will be a really good read. Srry I got a little side tracked, but good post hahaa
