Eclipse/ DI

I just saw the lunar eclipse and it was awsome! It was a dark red with a little bit of lighter yellow/orange on the edge. Apparently (according to the NASA website) the midwest will have a good view of it, and we can watch it from start to finish. The reason that the moon changes color is that the Earth comes between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun's light. The color can vary due to the anount of dust in the air. This will be the last total eclipse till December 2010, so I'm happy I caught it! If you missed it, you can find more information here, and a picture of another (but still cool) lunar eclipse here.

Now onto DI! I don't know how many of you know this, but I am in DI, and our regional competition is on Saturday! My team (The End of the World) is super excited, and we expect to do well. The basis of our skit is that we are food trying to escape from a lunchbox, and I am a submarine sandwich. (with a sweet toothpick/ olive) Wish us luck!

i remember the first time i saw one. my fourth grade teacher told us to go look at it for extra credit. so i sat on the patio with my mom and we watched it happen. i remember being slightly dissapointed because it wasnt total, and you could still see some white on the edge. much like this one.
